Pine Hollow Middle School, 5522 Pine Hollow Rd, Concord, CA 94521
About
St. Bonaventure CYO offers organized youth sports in Basketball, Cross Country, and Track & Field. The program includes three distinct sports that children can join. Sports are offered for all students in the parish from grades 2nd–8th.
• Ages: 7–14 years old
All children in St. Bonaventure CYO play against others at their own skill level. The program is part of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), a local parish-based group that emphasizes the teachings of Christ while instilling the joy of sport. The athletic programs are described as an important youth ministry at the church. The program states that it does not emphasize “winning at all costs” and does not endorse non-becoming behavior. As representatives of the parish community, participants are taught values of sportsmanship, fair play, and both team and individual growth with Christian values, with the stated goal that at the end of the season the children are better athletes and better community citizens. All St. Bonaventure CYO players must either reside within parish boundaries or have attended Catholic Studies the prior year. The program is reliant on adult volunteers to help it run. Ferd Santos is listed as a contact for questions at phone number (925)270-9390. The website is powered by SportsEngine's Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software and is subject to the St. Bonaventure CYO privacy policy.
