A Step Beyond offers free after-school dance classes, academic support, and social services for participating students and their families. The program also hosts a 6th Annual Wine Tasting Benefit that features a selection of 10 premier wines in blind tastings, each rated 95 points and higher.

A Step Beyond is a Creative Youth Development organization serving youth and their families living at or below the poverty line. ASB has built its model over the past decade and is guided by a new three-year strategic plan through 2028, including a plan to gradually grow enrollment to more than 280 students and an emphasis on supporting alumni during the first two years after high school through mentoring, advising, and targeted intervention. The organization states that 100% of ASB students are expected to graduate high school and immediately enroll in college or career programs after completing the 10-year program. Reported student responses include that 95% of youth say their participation at ASB helps them feel more successful at school, 98% say that ASB helps them build their confidence, and 92% say dancing helps build their collaborative skills. A Step Beyond is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by CEO James Wright.
Community connections include A Step Beyond + Project Next: A New Partnership for Student Success, the A Step Further monthly giving community, and thanks given to founding, sustaining, and platinum institutional partners.
