Adventure Kids is an exclusively mobile camp with no central base camp for drop off, and camp vehicles include a large bus, a smaller bus, large vans, and mini vans.

Campers are picked up in the morning at central transportation points from North Oakland to Pleasanton or at their homes for those using the home transport option, then meet up at Larkey Park or Osage Park before heading out for the day’s adventure, and are returned to their place of morning pick up when the day is done. Listed transportation times include 8:45 a.m. pick up and 2:50 p.m. drop off at several locations, and 9:00 a.m. pick up and 3:00 p.m. drop off at others.

The program states that adventures are designed to provide age-appropriate but boundary-stretching summer fun for all ages, and that safety is always the utmost priority. On large field trip outings, the camper-to-staff ratio for younger groups is a maximum of 5:1, and for older campers the ratio is 8:1. With written parental approval, older campers are allowed to buddy up with friends and have more autonomy while maintaining contact with staff throughout the trip. The camp’s tagline is “Where Every Child is a Happy Camper.”

Senior staff are described as off duty education professionals or others with a high degree of experience working with and directing groups of school-age children. Support staff are generally drawn from college students or off duty or retired education professionals, and the camp does not hire anyone under age 20 as senior supervisory staff. The camp states that it always looks to proven professionals or those with a demonstrated high level of awareness, friendliness, professionalism, and sensibility where supervision of campers is involved. All vehicles are driven by appropriately licensed, responsible drivers who show a high degree of care for the safe operation of the vehicles they operate.

The camp notes that weeks may be moved to accommodate changing schedules with seven days’ advance notice at no additional charge, and that any cancellation will incur the standard cancellation policy and fee, with remaining weeks adjusted to the next lowest number-of-weeks rate for refunds. Summer 2026 registrations are open, and the program serves families in multiple Bay Area communities, including Oakland, Orinda, Lafayette, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, Clayton, Alamo, Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Berkeley, Pleasanton, and the greater Bay Area. One parent testimonial reports that an 8-year-old child enjoyed activities such as swimming, archery, rock climbing, movies, and Boomers, and describes the staff as professional, friendly, and caring.
