Oakland Ballet School

Oakland Ballet School offers Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 1 & 2, Pre-Ballet 2, Primary, and Levels 1A through 6 for ages 3.5 to 19. Classes include ballet at listed levels such as Technique, Pointe, Contemporary, Conditioning, Repertoire, and Pas de Deux, with some levels meeting on Saturdays and other weekdays. The school says its Pre-Ballet/Primary program is for ages 3.5 to 8, its Youth Program is for students aged 7 and older, and its Adult/Teen Program is open to adults and teens ages 15 and up.

About the provider

Oakland Ballet School was founded in 1968 as the official school of the Oakland Ballet Company under the direction of Ronn Guidi. The school says it strives to provide a welcoming environment and an encouraging atmosphere to learn ballet through musicality, artistic expression, coordination, and technique. Dancers in the Children’s Program are invited to participate in the Spring Performance in May, and all dancers in the Youth Program are invited to perform in The Nutcracker and the Spring Performance.

There are no height or weight requirements. The Artistic and Associate Directors make all final decisions regarding class placement. Registration forms are processed and space is reserved once payment is received.
