About

Urban Adventure Camps offers amazing daily field trip adventures to the Bay Area’s museums, science centers, parks, galleries, and other urban attractions and city centers. Groups take a different field trip every day of the week and navigate the Bay Area using public transportation while learning the public transit system, map reading, and how to get around the city. Each session focuses on subject areas such as physical science, natural science, history, and art, with camps separated into Explorer Camps and Active Camps.

• Ages: 8–15 years old
• Schedule: Unique one-week day camp sessions, Monday–Friday, with camps running from 8am–4pm; pre and post camp day care is available for certain camps
• Price: The cost for a full week of Explorer Camp is $575 and Active Camp is $775; all museum entrance fees, transportation costs, instruction, and two snacks per day are included, with lunch and any pre or post day care not included in the camp fee

Urban Adventure Camps offers a variety of different subject-oriented camps that align with camper interests, with summer camps as the biggest offering throughout the summer and options for group bookings for destinations of choice. Camp apparel is available, and the program highlights friendship, teamwork, leadership, and fun, supported by excited and knowledgeable instructors. Instructors are credentialed teachers that know the subject. The mission of Urban Adventure Camps is to give campers an experience to remember through the destinations visited and active days in small groups, with daily adventures that help to build confidence and independence.

Parent feedback includes reports of campers sharing daily details about planned activities, interactions with counselors and other kids, and spontaneous activities, as well as appreciation for the diversity of events. Another parent notes that their children learned the public transit system, map reading, and how to navigate around the city while exploring destinations from Berkeley to San Francisco to San Jose, and describes the experience as unique and unforgettable with enthusiastic and fun counselors.
