Urban Adventure Camps offers a variety of different camps that are subject oriented to focus on campers’ interests, with each session focusing on physical science, natural science, history, or art, and weekly themes that include history, science, and art. Camps are separated into Explorer Camps and Active Camps, and summer camps are the biggest offering. With payment of the camp fee, everything is included except lunch and pre and post day care, and all museum entrance fees, transportation costs, instruction, and two snacks per day are included.

Instructors are credentialed teachers that know the subject. The mission of Urban Adventure Camps is to give campers an experience to remember through the destinations visited and active days in fun small groups, with daily adventures that help to build confidence and independence.

A parent shared that every day their son said camp was really fun and talked about the planned activities, interactions with counselors and other kids, and spontaneous activities, and noted the diversity of events as a big plus. Another parent described it as a truly unique camp experience where their kids learned the public transit system, map reading, and how to navigate around the city, explored destinations from Berkeley to San Francisco to San Jose, and commented that the counselors were enthusiastic and fun.
