Firecracker Math

Firecracker Math offers year-round math classes in-person and online, along with summer math camps, winter camps, after-school enrichment programs, math competitions, test prep courses, private and semi-private lessons, custom learning pods, and Math Festivals for families. The program provides small group and private instruction on extra-curricular math topics, with lessons supplemented by hands-on activities and a curriculum that focuses on exploration and understanding of mathematical concepts, problem solving, and logical reasoning. Firecracker Math is a math enrichment program for children aged 5 to 16 years old and introduces advanced topics such as number theory, geometry, combinatorics, and probability in a creative learning environment with small group sizes for close teacher-to-student interaction.

Firecracker Math was founded in 2011 as a children’s newspaper called the Firecracker Forum, which launched a math enrichment program for children in grades K–11 in the fall of 2011, and Ella Levine founded the Firecracker Math program in 2012. The leadership team includes Program Director and Teacher Ella Levine, Program Coordinator and Teacher Svetlana Livdan, Administrative Manager Amber DaVisio, and Outreach Manager Sherri Hansell. Teachers are described as well-trained and enthusiastic, with advanced degrees in math or science. Firecracker Math is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a high rate of returning students and a Referral Appreciation Program that offers a 5% discount off an entire term or summer camp tuition for every referred student who enrolls. Firecracker Math and its parent company Firecracker Forum also host free Math Festivals for families, rely on donations from individuals and businesses, and involve volunteers as an essential part of the program.
