• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Classes run September 8, 2025 – May 22, 2026, following the PUSD school calendar, with Spanish classes before school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:45 AM to 8:25 AM

Piedmont Language School is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is parent-run and was founded more than 40 years ago by Piedmont parents. The school offers classes in Spanish and Mandarin to children from TK through 7th grade, with Mandarin classes offered after school and an adult Mandarin class offered in the evenings. All teachers are native Spanish speakers with extensive experience teaching kids, and beginners’ classes start with a foundational oral approach and then advance to reading and writing as students’ knowledge grows. Piedmont Language School is committed to preparing and inspiring children for continued study, work and citizenship in a global community, and supports, advocates, and creates opportunities for world language learning and cultural exposure. The Spanish program is provided by partner Viva el Español, a non-profit Spanish and Language Cultural center based in Lafayette, and the organization also supports the school district by raising funds to advocate best practices and innovative thinking in the classroom. Piedmont Language School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin and does not discriminate on these bases in administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and other school-administered programs, and scholarships are offered on a need basis.
