Perfect Day Surf Camp

Perfect Day Surf Camp offers surf camp, Lil' Grom Surf Camp, Junior Guard Prep, after school surf club, surf enrichment class, school-days-out camp, private lessons, beach parties, surf parties, Surf Moms, and Woman Only Surf. Activities include surfing, boogie boarding, beach games, ocean safety, beach warm-ups, conditioning, water skills, and one-on-one surf coaching. Many programs include surfboards, wetsuits, and other gear.

• Surf Camp — Ages 8–17 · Half-day & full-day options; daily & weekly enrollment · Beginner to intermediate. Small-group surf and boogie boarding instruction; beach games included; all equipment included; CPR & First Aid Certified Instructors.
• Lil' Grom Surf Camp — Ages 4–7 · Half-day & full-day options; daily & weekly enrollment · First-time and young surfers, including non-swimmers. Surfing, boogie boarding, beach games, close supervision, and all gear provided.
• JG / Surf Combo — Ages 8–17 · Full-day program; morning Junior Guard Prep and afternoon surf training · Redondo Beach (Redondo - Knob Hill Location Only). Includes 3 hours Junior Guard Prep and 3 hours Surf & Beach Training; small group format; capacity 20; CPR & First Aid Certified Instructors.
• Junior Guard Prep — Ages 8–14 · Half-day & full-day options · Redondo - Knob Hill Location Only. Conditioning and water skills to prepare for Junior Guards or train in a non-competitive format.
• After School Surf Club — Ages 5–17 · Tuesday / Thursday 3:30–5:00 PM · Fall program for surfers who can paddle out on their own and want to improve technique, confidence, and surf skills.
• Surf Enrichment Class — Kids · Friday 9:00–10:30 AM · Combines surfing, ocean safety, beach activities, and hands-on learning in a supportive environment; no prior surfing experience required.
• Fall/Winter/Spring Break, Ski Week, Holidays & School Days Out — Ages 5–17 · Weekdays 9:00 AM–2:00 PM · Structured camp with beach warm-ups, level-based surf instruction, beach games, ocean safety, and confidence-building teamwork.
• Surf Moms — Women · Thursday 9:30 AM–11:00 AM · Surf Sisters & moms program for women learning the basics of surfing in a supportive, judgment-free environment. Surfboards and wetsuits are provided or bring your own.
• Private Lessons — Kids, teens, and adults · Flexible scheduling; 90-minute sessions · One-on-one surf coaching tailored to skill level and goals; beginner to advanced surfers; wetsuit and board included.
• Beach Party — Kids · By booking · Boogie boarding, body surfing, and beach games; optional surf instructor for kids who want to learn to surf.
• Surf Party — Kids · By booking · Birthday experience with surfing, boogie boarding, and beach games; each child gets a chance to learn to surf if they choose.
• Woman Only Surf — Women & moms · Thursday · Weekly ocean reset for women & moms; no pressure, fun, fitness, and community. Try your first Thursday free.

About the provider

Perfect Day Surf Camp was founded in 2001, and the site also states it has been mother-owned since 2000 and trusted by families for 20+ years. The owner is Robbie Yrigoyen. The program states that its mission is to provide a safe, fun, confidence-building surf environment for kids, teens, and families. It also lists CPR and lifeguard-certified coaches, CPR and First Aid Certified Instructors, and lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, and AED certified staff. The program says it has partnered with nonprofits to bring surfing to kids who cannot afford it, people with disabilities, and those in therapy or recovery, and that it has taught many children with autism.

Small groups with a 4:1 student-instructor ratio in surf camps ages 8–17; 1:1 for Lil’ Groms ages 4–7 and any child that needs it. Campers can schedule by the day and early drop-off is available. All levels welcome on some programs. Contests are optional.
