Perfect Day Surf Camp offers surf camps, private surf lessons, junior guard prep programs, after school surfing, a surf club, and surf contests. The program also offers surf classes for moms, women only surf, girls only surf, and instruction in surfing for people with disabilities or people in therapy or recovery. Campers receive ocean and beach safety knowledge, including tides, currents, riptides, and surf etiquette, along with stranger danger education.

Perfect Day Surf Camp is mother-owned, family operated, and has been trusted by families since 2000, and is described as one of the first premier surf camps in Los Angeles County with ongoing secured permits from cities and the county. The flagship location offers nine programs for all ages all year, from tiny groms to Junior Guards to Surf Moms, and one beach location is described as having calm, uncrowded, beginner-perfect conditions, including a Girls Only Surf option. The program uses a 4:1 student–instructor ratio in surf camps for ages 8–17, a 1:1 ratio for Lil’ Groms ages 4–7 and any child that needs it, and an 8:1 ratio for other activities when not surfing. Surfboards, boogie boards, and wetsuits are provided to borrow, and campers may bring their own soft top surfboard if they understand the camp is not responsible for any damages. Campers receive a bright “safety” camp rash guard that the owner describes as a game changer for her own children and as a piece of memorabilia that parents can also use at pools, the beach, and busy amusement parks. Families can schedule by the day, including last minute in the morning, afternoon, or for the whole day, and early drop off is available for working parents. Fun and silly surf contests are held weekly with sponsor-provided goodies for awards, and contests are optional.
Perfect Day Surf Camp was founded in 2001 by Robbie Yrigoyen, a lifelong surfer, entrepreneur, and dedicated mom who is proudly sponsored by Quiksilver and Roxy. The mission statement describes that Robbie, passionate about surfing and kids, created a safe, fun, and confidence-building environment where families can make lasting memories, with safety, personal growth, and joy at the heart of everything she does. The owner is a mom with a loving husband and two young children and makes sure there is a parent or teacher on site who understands young children’s needs like hydration, eating, and sunscreen. Staff are required to be certified before working, and training classes are provided to all employees needing it, with coaches and instructors described as CPR and lifeguard-certified, CPR and First Aid Certified, and lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, and AED certified.
Robbie has partnered with nonprofits to bring surfing to kids who cannot afford it, people with disabilities, and those in therapy or recovery. Perfect Day Surf Camp offers fun surf days for foundations such as Maui Ola Foundation with people suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, Joyful Heart Foundation with battered women and children, and Stoked Mentoring with inner city kids, and has taught many children with autism.
