Perfect Day Surf Camp offers surf camps, local surf classes, private surf lessons, and a surf contest, along with fun surf days. The program also runs summer programs, fall–spring programs, after school surfing, junior guard prep classes, and women only surf sessions. Surfboards, boogie boards, and wetsuits are provided to borrow, and campers may bring their own soft top boards, with the camp not responsible for any damages.

Perfect Day Surf Camp is mother-owned and has been trusted by families since 2000, and it was founded in 2001 by Robbie Yrigoyen, a lifelong surfer, entrepreneur, and mom. It is described as one of the first premier surf camps in Los Angeles County and is sponsored by Quiksilver and Roxy, with ongoing secured permits from cities and the county. The program operates by a lifeguard tower at safe sandy beach bottoms and not at local spots where campers can get intimidated or hassled.
The camp states a mission of creating a safe, fun, and confidence-building environment where families can make lasting memories, with safety, personal growth, and joy at the heart of the founder’s approach. It offers confidence-building surf camps for kids and families in small groups, with a 4:1 student–instructor ratio in surf camps for ages 8–17, and 1:1 for Lil’ Groms ages 4–7 and any child that needs it; other activities have an 8:1 ratio if not surfing. All levels are taught in small groups with gear included, and the program is family operated and family minded, with a parent or teacher on site who understands young children’s needs like hydration, eating, and sunscreen.
Campers receive a bright “safety” camp rash guard as memorabilia that parents can also use for their own safety needs at pools, the beach, and busy amusement parks like Disneyland and more. Families can schedule by the day, including last minute in the morning, afternoon, or for the whole day, and early drop-off is available for working parents. Daily topics include ocean and beach awareness such as tides, currents, riptides, and surf etiquette, and staff also teach younger children about stranger danger and where to go if lost on the beach.
All coaches and instructors hold CPR and lifeguard certifications, CPR and First Aid certifications, or Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, and AED certifications, and training classes are provided to all employees needing it. Perfect Day Surf Camp gives back through partnerships with nonprofits and foundations, offering fun surf days for groups such as Maui Ola Foundation with people suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, Joyful Heart Foundation with battered women and children, and Stoked Mentoring with inner city kids, and has taught many children with autism. The program also runs fun and silly surf contests weekly with goodies from sponsors for the awards, and participation in contests is optional.
