Youth & Family Art Programs include specific activities such as Spring Break Camp AM: Anime + Digital Design, Spring Break Camp AM: Monster Maker Lab, Monthly Family Activity Day, and Drop-in Art Activity Days. The program also offers SCG Workshop I with Jori Jori: 3D Paper Dolls from Recycled Materials, SCG Workshop II with Jori Jori: Mixed Media – Wearable Art Masks, an SCG Open Studio with Jori Jori, and an SCG Artist Lecture with Jori Jori. Tour Talk & Create for K-12 is available as a field trip option.

Youth & Family Art Programs take place within a broader organization whose gallery hours are Tuesday–Saturday from 11:00 am–5:00 pm, with 3rd Saturdays including a 4:00–5:00 pm artist lecture if scheduled and a 5:00–7:00 pm reception. Spring Break Camp AM: Anime + Digital Design for ages 9–12 and Spring Break Camp AM: Monster Maker Lab for ages 12–18 are both scheduled on March 30 from 9:00 am–12:00 pm. Monthly Family Activity Days are scheduled once a month from April through September, each running from 11:00 am–2:00 pm. SCG Workshop I with Jori Jori: 3D Paper Dolls from Recycled Materials is scheduled for April 14 from 12:00 pm–3:00 pm, SCG Open Studio with Jori Jori runs from April 15 at 12:00 pm through April 30 at 2:00 pm, SCG Artist Lecture with Jori Jori is on April 18 from 4:00 pm–5:00 pm, and SCG Workshop II with Jori Jori: Mixed Media – Wearable Art Masks is on April 25 from 12:00 pm–3:00 pm.

The program is part of Blue Line Arts, which describes itself as a regional cultural hub committed to fostering impactful arts experiences through exhibitions, educational programming, and public arts initiatives. Blue Line Arts offers scholarships for up to 100% of registration fees and a Family Membership that includes discounts on programs and free access to monthly Drop-in Art Activity Days. Field trips through Tour Talk & Create for K-12 are free for qualifying schools. Since its inception in 1966, the organization has created exhibitions and arts programming and has undergone several changes, including opening a new gallery in 2008 and adopting the name Blue Line Arts in 2013.

Leadership connected to the program’s organization includes board members Yolanda Ramirez, Katherine McComic, Narinder Sufi, Ingrid Kelly, and Sharon Buckenmeyer, with Susan Ramirez serving as Board President and Sheree Meyer as Secretary. Staff roles include Fenn Bruns as Gallery Coordinator and Nico Rodriguez as Public Art Coordinator. Fenn Bruns holds a BFA in Art and Design with a minor in Queer Studies from Cal Poly SLO, graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2024, and is pursuing an MFA in Art Practice. Fenn has received the Kodak Professional Photographer scholarship at Cal Poly SLO, recognition for Outstanding Contribution to DEI Work, the Art for Social Change award from Cal Poly Arts, and awards including being named one of the top three artists in SPE’s New Wave Exhibition and earning 3rd place for Best Feature Photograph at the California College Media Awards. Susan Ramirez has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University, is a CPA with an MBA from UC Davis, and has experience at Deloitte & Touche LLP, Cigna Corp, and Bank of Marin. Sheree Meyer has served as a Professor of Renaissance Literature, Chair of the English Department, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and Dean of the College of Arts & Letters at Sacramento State.
