Parent and Me is a class for children aged 18 months to 3 years with parents participating, and Fancy Toes is a blend of ballet and tap for ages 2–3. Ballet classes include barre work, center work, and across-the-floor, Tap focuses on precise rhythmic movements of the feet, Jazz includes warm-up, barre work, conditioning, flexibility training, and choreography, and Hip Hop teaches moves seen in hip hop and R&B videos, including locking, popping, and breaking. Lyrical combines ballet and jazz technique with emphasis on expressive feeling and emotion, while Contemporary develops expressive communication through movement and includes abstract movements similar to those seen on “So You Think You Can Dance.” Musical Theater is one of the academy’s signature programs, where students train in singing, dancing, and acting with three specialized instructors, and most dancers attend multiple style classes.

Fancy Feet Dance Academy states that its long term goal is to provide dance education that will inspire and lead each child to become a well-rounded dancer, and its curriculum blends technique with personal development and challenges dancers. The studio focuses on creative movement, original choreography, dance as art, and gently encouraging children’s self-esteem with the joy of dance, and it strives to create a family friendly environment where ages 18 months to teens can express and grow through music and dance. Over 90 classes are offered, and there are two optional recitals per year, a holiday show in December and a June recital, with an official recital T-shirt featuring the 2026 recital logo and names of all dancers in the cast available as a keepsake.

Instructors at Fancy Feet Dance Academy have training that includes college degrees in dance education, professional experience in the entertainment business, and performance training, and they are described as skilled. A quality studio is described as one that will require instructors to be CPR and first aid certified and be affiliated with a state or national organization that certifies instructors, such as Dance Masters of America, as an example of a quality studio standard. The academy notes that most dancers attend multiple style classes, which is described as a key ingredient for those who choose to go to a 4-year university, a professional company, or dance professionally.

Tap dancers use tap shoes to make rhythmic sounds with their feet, and a leotard and tights are described as appropriate dance wear for class, while baggy clothing, jeans, sweatshirts, and other street wear are described as not appropriate for dance class. The academy offers party packages, a dance bag and pair of tights with the March $99 Special, and invites families to book a trial class. It states that it is proudly serving Sacramento communities including Tahoe Park, Land Park, North Natomas, Elk Grove, Midtown, Oak Park, East Sacramento, Folsom, Hollywood Park, Downtown, Pocket-Greenhaven, River Park, Pocket, Village 9, Willowcreek, Westlake, Natomas Park, South Land Park, New Era Park, Elmhurst, and Rancho Cordova.
