Camp Carmel Creek

Camp Carmel Creek offers a new kind of summer camp experience that combines specialty Adventure Track options with a classic camp feel. Campers own their summer experience through curiosity-based programming, selecting new and different Adventure Tracks each week, with each week in the same track featuring a new specialty. Campers can expect to have all the experiences they love in a day camp while choosing the activities they are most passionate about doing each day, and the camp provides flexible scheduling so families can tailor their plans.

Camp Carmel Creek is launching its inaugural year for summer 2023 as a community offering created by San Diego Jewish Academy. The camp is on a mission to fill childhood summers with joy, curiosity, adventure and community. Camp Carmel Creek is led by Camp Director Adam Benmoise, who brings over 20 years of summer camp experience, including work as a counselor, lead staff in the overnight camp world, and executive leadership in the day camp world, and who spent the past 10 years building day camps for the JCC communities of NYC and Westchester, NY. The camp has the highest level of trained staff, with a core leadership team made up of teachers, educators, and camp professionals, along with an energetic, engaging, and committed team of young adults, and every staff member will care for campers from the moment they join in the morning until they are picked up at the end of the day. Parents do not need to pack a lunch, as the camp handles lunch for campers.
