Step By Step Dance was originally established in 1976 and has been providing dance instruction to the community for over 40 years. The studio was originally called RB Dancers. After 25 years of owning and managing the studio, Sioux and Jeri sold the studio to Ryane and her husband in January 2022, and Sioux has stayed on as a dance instructor for tap and adult cardio hip hop.
Step By Step Dance is a family-run business with experienced teachers and states that it is fully committed to building strong connections and community with its students and families. The leadership and instructional team includes Owner and Instructor Ryane, along with instructors Sioux, Garyn, Katey, Alyssa, Brianni, Lia, Aly, Ceci, and Rosie, and leaders Sioux Duddy and Jeri Sutter.
SBSD Elite is the program’s award-winning performance team, which is described as being for students interested in taking their dance training and performance to the next level. Tryouts for SBSD Elite are held once a year, and the team competes in 3–4 scored competitions in a season. The program also offers an end-of-season recital that displays dancers’ work from the past season, and the show usually takes place in mid June.
Parent testimonials describe long-term participation and positive experiences. One parent reports having children at Step By Step Dance for five years and recommends the teachers and program. Another parent describes their children enjoying a hip-hop class with Miss Sioux and recommends Step By Step Dance. A third parent notes that their daughter has been dancing at the studio for six years, describes both growth as a dancer and having fun, and shares that their family continues to attend even after moving farther away.
