About
The Civic Kitchen Teen Cooking Camp is a 5-day teen cooking camp that includes homemade pasta, breakfast favorites, dinner favorites, and sweet treats. Over the five-class series, participants work on knife skills, scratch-made burgers and sides, and a fun twist on macaroni and cheese. The camp also covers three chicken preparations, techniques for gnocchi with a salad to serve on the side, preparing breakfast, a taco bar with crispy fish or steak and a range of traditional sides, sweet and savory baking recipes, and homemade ice cream.
• Ages: 11–14 years old
• Schedule: 5-class series over 5 days, starting Monday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m. PT
Civic Kitchen co-founder Jen Nurse is part of the leadership team. Masks are optional for guests and staff, and guests may choose to wear a well-fitted mask while cooking and interacting with others, while gaiters, bandanas, and clear face shields without a mask underneath are not recommended for a cooking environment. The HVAC system, professional ventilation hoods, and a high-capacity HEPA filter run when guests are present, and the team practices cleaning, sanitizing, and frequent hand washing at several hand washing stations.
