Hearts Respond Classes & Groups

Hearts Respond Classes & Groups offers Airbrush Workshop, The Writer Within, Music Lessons, Singing Lessons, Art Classes, Life Skills Group, Counseling Support Group, Parent Support Group, Reading Support, and Tutoring Support. The activities include airbrush art, writing poems, stories, and narratives, guitar and keyboard lessons, singing lessons, sketching and drawing, social-emotional skill building, coping skills, parent support, reading support, and subject tutoring.

Programs

• Airbrush Workshop — Ages 8+
• The Writer Within — Teens · Writing course encouraging students to use creativity and write and share poems, stories, and narratives. Taught by a professional author and writing teacher.
• Music Lessons — All Ages · Beginning or advanced guitar or keyboard lessons taught by professional young adult musicians.
• Singing Lessons — Kids and Teens · Lessons for beginners and experienced singers, taught by vocal teachers.
• Art Classes — Kids and Teens · Sketching and drawing. Taught by art teachers.
• Life Skills Group — Kids 3rd Grade - 8th Grade · Social-emotional skill building taught by professional counselors. 6 week program.
• Counseling Support Group — Teens · Weekly · Support group aimed at coping skills for daily stressors.
• Parent Support Group — Parents · Support group for parents to help manage family schedules, relationships and how to guide kids in a healthy way.
• Reading Support — Kids 2nd - 3rd Grade · Support for kids learning to read. Taught by outstanding teens and college students.
• Tutoring Support — Kids 1st - 8th Grade · After school, evening and weekend support · Support available for all subjects. Taught by outstanding teens and college students.

About the provider

Hearts Respond is a community focused non-profit dedicated to providing resources and guidance for residents to improve their lives through creative outlets, seminars and workshops, and service activities. It is led by members of the community and Dr. Gregory Allen, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist for over 30 years. Counselor bios include Marjorie Fagan and Dr. Yana Gordin, and the organization works in partnership with the South Bay non-profit Freedom4U.
