About

Pedro Soriano Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Martial Arts Program offers Martial Arts classes that include the Mighty Mites Program, Pee Wee Program, Juniors Program, and Kids Virtual Martial Arts. The program also offers Kids Virtual Martial Arts, Kids Online Judo, Adults Virtual Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and an Adults Virtual Self-Defense Program through its HomeDojo online format. The Juniors Program describes Jiu-Jitsu as a gentle art and has a stated goal for Juniors to better communicate and control both mind and body.

• Ages: 3–12 years old

The Mighty Mites Program is for 3–5 year olds and focuses on teamwork, respect, discipline, sportsmanship, dedication, and common sense. The Pee Wee Program is for 5–7 year olds and focuses on socialization, self-defense techniques, personal safety awareness, and building a strong character. The Juniors Program is for 8–12 year olds and is part of the Kids Virtual Martial Arts Program, with an emphasis on building character and leadership qualities and on developing confidence and discipline even if students are at home.

The program states that its structured classes are designed to help develop physical fitness, coordination, mental strength, work ethics, and other social and life skills, and that it uses positive reinforcement to help children achieve their goals and success in life. It also offers VIRTUAL CLASSES: Martial Arts and Fitness Online Programs, including an EXCLUSIVE offer with a FREE VIRTUAL SESSION, and notes that “The Dojo might be closed, but our HomeDojo is always open.”

The leadership team includes Pedro Soriano, Sensei Pedro, and Coach Toro. The program’s mission statement says that children in development are benefited by Martial Arts classes far beyond the Dojo and in many real world situations, and that through positive reinforcement, the program aims to bring out the best in children to help them achieve their goals and success in life.

Parent testimonials describe instructors as incredible with kids and say that instruction goes beyond the mechanics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to include gratitude, mindfulness, respect, and non-violent techniques to deter bullies. One parent reports that their son, who started at age five and attends twice a week, is learning about patience, perseverance, growth mindset, and respect. Another parent notes that Sensei Pedro and his coaches actively teach and monitor students for form and improvement, use some humor and a relatable teaching style, and explicitly teach students to appreciate and respect each other, describing a strong respect for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a genuine sense of family.
