Dave Fromer Soccer focuses on soccer skills such as ball control, dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, goalkeeping, juggling, heading, and awareness and first touch. Camp activities include stretching, exercises, running, games, passing and controlling the ball, shooting and scoring, personal one-on-one defense, team defense and zonal play, field positions with specialized skills, effective movement off the ball, creative use of open space, and set plays such as throw-ins and free kicks. The program curriculum also includes a camper favorite trick or move of the day, speed and agility training, and a World Cup Tournament.

Dave Fromer Soccer has been providing soccer programs in the Bay Area since 1974, and Dave Fromer co-founded the Mill Valley Soccer Club in 1976. The mission of Dave Fromer Soccer is to offer dynamic programs emphasizing skill development and fun, making soccer fun while giving clear instruction and expert advice, helping to build self-esteem through a nurturing, positive and supportive environment, and spreading joy and building unity by sharing their passion for soccer. Dave Fromer has facilitated and mentored many thousands of young players through soccer camps, a Winter Indoor Soccer League, Pee Wee Soccer and K-1 classes, and Spring/Fall 5 v 5 programs in partnership with the Mill Valley Recreation Department, and he co-founded the MVSC Girls’ Soccer League and helped start the Marin Women’s Soccer League.
Camp hours run Monday through Friday, with full days from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and an afternoon session from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, with lunch and social time from 12:00 to 12:45 PM and 8:30 AM drop-off at no extra charge. Summer camp sessions are offered during Week 1 June 15–19, Week 2 June 22–26, Week 3 July 13–17, Week 4 July 20–24, Week 5 July 27–31, Week 6 August 3–7, and Week 7 August 10–14. All levels are welcome from beginning through advanced, campers are initially grouped according to age and experience level, requests to be with friends in appropriate age groups are generally honored, and campers who need a more challenging curriculum may be offered the option of moving to a different group. For the summer soccer camps, the program is for boys and girls ages 5–12, and account credits may be applied toward any of their programs with no expiration date.
The leadership team includes founder Dave Fromer, who is a former collegiate All-American and national champion and was co-captain of the first youth team from the Western United States to win a national championship. The team also includes Jacki Fromer, who has participated in behind-the-scenes management of Marin Soccer Programs and previously worked 13 years for a community non-profit organization providing support services for parents and training programs for childcare providers; Executive Director Rachel Usher, who has a credential in Early Childhood Education; General Manager Lewis Usher, who has experience teaching after-school soccer and basketball and coordinating and coaching a large 4- and 5-year-old league; and Reed Fromer, who has refereed youth soccer for over 28 years and is a mathematics teacher, youth chorus instructor, rhythm and blues band leader, and studio producer. Additional leadership and staff include Maya Paul as Assistant Manager and Judy Arlen as a staff member with extensive experience in customer service.
Campers are asked to bring a hearty lunch and snack, sunscreen, and a water bottle, and water is always available for refills at the camp site. Campers are advised to wear cleats, shinguards, and long socks, which are not required but are highly recommended, and personal items such as jackets and backpacks should be labeled. Campers are asked not to bring personal items such as collectibles, cards, toys, or devices such as iPhones and tablets to camp.
