The program offers dance and music lessons for all ages. All lessons are private.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Class and lesson options Monday–Thursday 9am–9pm, Friday 10am–6pm, and Saturday 9am–4pm

Along with its award winning dance program, the school’s music program offers private lessons in Piano, Voice, Guitar, Violin, and Bass. All music teachers are university trained, and they are CPR and first aid certified. All of the floors are equipped with floating Marley dance floors, which are described by the program as helping reduce the risk of injuries and allowing students to dance. The program states that it has some of the lowest class sizes of any studio in Santa Monica and that if a dance class has fewer students, each child will receive more personalized attention, learn more, and have more fun.

One parent, Kristine D., reports that her daughter has been taking various dance lessons at the school since it opened and that every summer there are dance recitals that she describes as wonderfully organized and coordinated, with details such as costumes, pictures, and lighting described as professionally executed. Another parent, Hilary McDonald, describes the teachers as fun, enthusiastic, and talented, and notes that the school sends home a student evaluation toward the end of the year with detailed comments, suggestions, and observations. Stacey Ells, who identifies herself as a mother, former professional dancer, and ballet teacher for 20 years, describes the School of Dance & Music as exceptional and says the studio and its staff inspire students to dance while teaching technique and infusing dancers with self-confidence and poise. A student, Tristan Koester, states that a guitar teacher at the school has taught him to be original and helped him become the “master of my own sound” and a more successful musician.
