North County Aikikai

North County Aikikai offers Aikido classes, including mixed classes from basic through advanced, classes for children, and youth classes. Weapons training is also part of the practice, using bokken and jyo.

• Youth Program — 7-12 · Tue, Thu, Sat · $90 per month · Kids learn how to fall safely, move with awareness, develop self-confidence, and learn co-operation and respect through partner practice.
• Teens — 13-17 · Fri · $100 per month · Teens can attend junior and adult classes.
• Adult General — 18+ · Mon, Wed, Sat · $140 per month · Any class appropriate to your level.

About the provider

North County Aikikai was established in 1991. Coryl Crane Shihan is the founder and chief instructor, and she studied under Chiba Shihan for more than 30 years. The school is a member of Birankai North America and is affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan, through Birankai.

Membership dues are payable by the first of each month and are not dependent upon the number of classes attended. In cases of financial hardship, special arrangements can be made. Family discount: 20% off for each family member, applies to regular memberships only. Annual fees are due when first signing up and thereafter at the beginning of each year. Visitors’ fee is $20 per day. Members are encouraged to contact the organization with questions.
