California Bearcats Select

California Bearcats Select offers basketball camps and club basketball teams that include Travel Team tournaments during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons in San Diego and Orange County. The program also includes tournaments in Las Vegas over the summer for 14U players.

• Schedule: 3–4 month season
• Price: Fees are approximately $200 per month for the 3–4 month season, with an additional cost for a uniform package; fees are non-refundable.

California Bearcats Select is in its 16th year in club basketball in San Diego and states that for over 17 years its mission has been to enable young men and women to reach their full potential on and off the court. The program is considered to be the #1 youth basketball club in San Diego County and is sponsored by Cali Strong. California Bearcats Select currently has 1st–8th grade boys and girls from Carlsbad, Encinitas, Leucadia, Solana Beach, Del Mar, and Carmel Valley, as well as some from La Jolla and Clairemont Mesa. CBC is comprised of boys teams from 3rd to 8th grade, with 15 teams total and one to two teams per grade, and teams are typically comprised of 9 players.

For the 4th–8th grade boys teams, a select number of players are chosen for the Travel Team, which is a combination of the RED or WHITE teams within each grade and participates in select tournaments during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons in San Diego and Orange County. The 14U group commits to tournaments in Las Vegas over the summer. Players are asked to commit to play all three seasons (Fall, Winter, and Spring). No player is allowed to play for another club basketball program unless that club team is a school team, and if a player plays for a school team, CBC is always the priority and the player must request approval from CBC before starting with the school club team. The leadership team lists Brenda Corsi as Co-Founder/Director and Co-Founder/Director of Operations.
