Education at Sagehen Creek Field Station takes place within a broader effort that has focused on research, education, and public service since 1951. As part of the UC Natural Reserve System and the University of California, Berkeley, all programs emphasize experiential, place-based learning and support the NRS mission to provide university-level instruction at natural reserves throughout California. The station partners with schools, universities, and nonprofits and provides scientists, educators, and students access to a 9,000-acre experimental forest as a living laboratory dedicated to advancing research, education, and stewardship in the Sierra Nevada.
