About

Learn to Bike Camp – Wash Park focuses on biking and introduces kids to self-sufficient cycling in a half-day Learn to Bike day camp. The program uses a progression from scooting to coasting to pedaling and is intended for first-time riders or kids using training wheels or balance bikes, not those who can already ride. Campers are strongly encouraged to use their own bikes, but they may also borrow from the camp’s fleet, and campers must be toilet trained by the start of camp.

• Ages: 3–6 years old
• Schedule: One Week AM Session, with 1-Week Session Mon - Fri 9 AM - 11:45 AM
• Price: One Week AM Session Price $360; Early Drop Off - Starting at 8 AM $35

The camp offers camper-to-staff ratios of 5:1 for individual attention and personalized coaching from Avid4 instructors, who are all 18 and older with safety and skills training. The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Avid4 Adventure provides transportation to and from recreation areas and access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, and also organizes activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and paddling in other programs. The organization states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors, believes in empowering kids from PreK–12, and offers programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17.

Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, its summer camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, and it has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service. The leadership team includes founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.

Parent testimonials describe kids learning to ride without training wheels during camp, staff who are mature, responsible and excited to share their passion, and campers who stay active every day and talk about camp long after it ends. The camp also offers a referral program where families can give friends $50 off their first camp and receive a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp when those friends make a purchase.
