Instructors are at least 18 years old and have serious safety and skills training, and Avid4 Adventure hires committed, experienced instructors and will be hiring approximately 500 educators across all of its camps. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong, and Avid4 Adventure states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe but does not “pack them up in bubble wrap.” Avid4 Adventure teaches campers skills including sound judgment and problem-solving and describes its approach as helping kids become more thoughtful, responsible risk takers and problem solvers.

Avid4 Adventure’s mission states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. Programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, and summer camps are described as highly acclaimed. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service.

Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. It states a commitment to public transparency and accountability as a Certified B Corp. The organization is led by founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.

The Rock Climbing Camp – Wash Park is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which includes a promise to provide an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence; if Avid4 Adventure does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Discounts and promotions include a Multi-Session/Sibling discount of $25 off per session after the first, a Referral Program where families can give friends $50 off their first camp and receive a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp when the friend makes a purchase, and a Service Discount of $65 off for qualifying professions.

Parent testimonials describe Avid4 Adventure as a well-run program where kids learn new outdoor skills, with staff who are mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children. One parent reports that their child learned to ride a bike without training wheels during camp and that stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and biking became her favorite activities. Other parents report that their kids were active every day, still talk about camp more than a month later, and are eager to return.
