SUP Camp Golden focuses on stand up paddleboarding, with campers practicing both flat-water paddling and whitewater paddling. Participants work on learning basic strokes, water safety, river reading, and rescue techniques such as swim rescue, recovering a lost board, and towing an injured paddler.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday, with camp hours from 9 AM to 3 PM and optional extended care from 8 AM to 5:30 PM

Campers are grouped by grade range into 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders and receive individualized support as they develop technical skills. SUP Camp Golden requires campers to have some previous experience paddling in standing or moving water and to feel fully comfortable on open water and being fully submerged in water for short periods of time. Transportation is provided to and from recreation areas, and campers use top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee and operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service, and Avid4 Adventure is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Instructors are all 18 and older, with serious safety and skills training, and are described as insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring and working with kids. The leadership team is headed by David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.
