SUP Day Camp campers should have some previous experience paddling in standing or moving water and must feel fully comfortable on open water and being fully submerged in water for short periods of time; if a camper does not meet this minimum skill requirement, the camp may move the camper to a different program if space is available or remove the camper from the group and offer a credit. Campers are grouped by grade range, either 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders, and receive individualized support as they develop technical skills, with access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. Transportation is provided to and from recreation areas, and the program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee.

Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors. The organization’s instructors are all 18 and older, are described as highly trained, and have serious safety and skills training. The leadership team includes founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is described as the home of multi-sport adventure, with programs that evolve with campers from age 3 to 17 and summer camps that are highly acclaimed.

Parent testimonials describe children learning new outdoor skills, including learning to ride a bike without training wheels during camp, and refer to Avid4 staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children. Parents also report that their children talk about camp more than a month later and look forward to returning, and one parent notes that their child’s favorite activities now include stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking.
