Northwest Washington Little League offers baseball programs and softball programs for children. The league follows the rules of Little League International and operates numerous programs throughout the year to serve nearly 1,000 kids. It is described as a co-educational youth recreational sports development league that has taught baseball skills to generations of local boys and girls.

Northwest Washington Little League was founded in 1989 and operates as a non-profit educational organization. Its stated mission is to promote and teach the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and citizenship through baseball. The league is described as a beloved and well-established anchor of healthy outdoor activity for children.

The league is governed by a constitution ratified in December 2024 and submitted to Little League Baseball Inc. This constitution covers the league name and objective, membership rules, general membership meetings, the board of directors and its duties and powers, affiliation, and financials and accounting. The Northwest Washington DC Little League Board is a volunteer group of parents, coaches, and community members that is elected yearly in accordance with league by-laws at an annual community meeting held in December.

The leadership team includes Rick Bielke (President), Scott Anderson (VP of Baseball), Brendon Mills (VP of Softball), Robyn Poole (Treasurer), Zach Drikas (Secretary), Molly Quigley (Player Agent), Eric Slack (Safety Officer), and Mike Barkett (Lead Coaching Coordinator). Additional at-large board members are Greg Berlin, Elizan Garcia, Neha Misra, Dan Steinberg, and Dierdre Wells.
