Headfirst Summer Camps offers programs for ages 3–13 with four convenient locations and Summer 2026 enrollment now open. Over the years, the summer camps have expanded from baseball to include other sport camps, Day Camps, STEM Camp, Sprouting Scientists, and Innovators, Inc. The Headfirst Companies have grown into a national organization that operates three divisions with twenty-five full-time and 700 seasonal team members, and they operate Professional Camps in partnership with four Major League Baseball teams, one Major League Soccer team, and one National Football League team.

The Headfirst Companies began in the fall of 1996 when founder Brendan Sullivan returned to Washington, DC after the first of his five professional baseball seasons and gave a single baseball lesson on the fields of St. Albans School. His journey had taken him from the District to Stanford University and then into the San Diego Padres minor league system via the Major League Baseball draft. For 30 years, Headfirst Summer Camps has been the trusted choice for families across Washington, DC, Bethesda, and Northern Virginia, and the organization states that it lives to elevate its camps as a platform to teach kids about life and open up possibilities for their future. From the first pitch, the stated mission has been and remains: to inspire the personal best in high potential kids.

Parent testimonials describe great counselors, flexibility to a child’s needs, and a carpool line for before and after care, as well as flexibility to change camp topics after registration. Parents report that children have grown in skills in two weeks, that one camper learned the backstroke in less than one week, and that counselors are caring, kind, and very well organized. Parents also highlight daily swimming, photo updates, grouping campers with their friends, and note that some campers who previously did not like summer camp have asked to return after a week at Headfirst, with parents appreciating the communication and photos that keep them up to date on each day.
