North Shore School of Dance Camps, Intensives & Youth Classes offers Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Modern, and Hip-Hop. The program also includes Pre-Dance classes, Boys Dance classes, Adult Dance classes, Seasonal Workshops, and Summer Camps/Intensives.

North Shore School of Dance Camps, Intensives & Youth Classes is part of North Shore School of Dance (NSSD), a professional dance school with five studios. NSSD has a highly qualified professional faculty and guest artists from well-respected companies. The school has offered extensive programming for pre-schoolers through professionals for over 35 years and continues a tradition of professional dance education in the community for over 50 years. North Shore School of Dance is named and owned by Lisa Gold, and the Rory Foster Dance Studio is named and owned by Rory Foster. NSSD’s history includes the formation of North Shore Dance Company in 1989, the C is for Chicago (CIC) Hip Hop Company in 2005, the North Shore Repertory Junior Ensemble in 2010, and the North Shore Repertory Apprentice Dance Ensemble in 2012, along with an annual Nutcracker and Spring Concerts of Dance. In 2018, NSSD premiered the Peanut Cracker, in 2019 it celebrated 30 years of Spring Concerts of Dance, and in 2023 it celebrated 35 years of educating dancers in the Highland Park area. NSSD states that its mission is “Where Our Dancers Come First” and describes a positive and nurturing educational environment, a focus on education and teaching skills that last a lifetime, and an emphasis on confidence, pride, and higher self-esteem for students. In 2023, NSSD received a certificate of recognition from the Chamber of Commerce for its ongoing contributions to students’ and families’ exposure to the arts.
