IU Bloomington Precollege Programs

IU Bloomington Precollege Programs offers dozens of year-round and in-person options where students can learn to build robots, unlock the secret to success in the business world, step up their game at a sports summer camp, and immerse themselves in the world of music and dance. The program also includes options to take an IU class, take IU courses at a high school to earn college credit, and take regular IU Bloomington classes while still in high school. Some programs give participants the opportunity to live on campus in a residence hall, and precollege ballet uses the same studio space as the college students and includes performing in a real show.

IU Bloomington Precollege Programs states that its precollege programs allow participants to explore IU on campus or at home with virtual options and to learn about and focus on subjects they love together with people who have similar interests. The Advance College Project allows students to take IU courses at their high school to earn college credit, and the on-campus Precollege Enrollment-Nondegree (OPEN) Program allows high school students to take regular IU Bloomington classes. One student, Tori, says, “I love doing ballet at IU. We’re in the same studio space as the college students and we even get to perform in a real show!”
