About

MMACR Martial Arts Programs offers training in MMA, Grappling & Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, Sport Sambo, and Combat Sambo. The program includes a Kids Program, a Youth Program, and an Adult Program, with activities that combine striking, grappling, and wrestling techniques. The Sambo training includes both Sport Sambo, which does not use striking, and Combat Sambo, which is similar to modern MMA.

• Ages: 4–18 years old

The Kids Program is for ages 4–11 and the Youth Program is for ages 12–17. The staff includes an instructor with over 30 years of experience in combat sports and self defense and a career of over 200 fights. This instructor has been a member of Italian national teams from 2016 to 2018 and a wrestling sparring partner from 2018 to 2020 with former UFC fighter Alessio Di Chirico. Credentials include an IMMAF/MMA European bronze medal in Sofia 2017, participation in the IMMAF World Championship two times as an athlete and two times as an official, and participation in IMMAF and UWW European Championships four times as an athlete. The instructor is a seven-time Italy Championship winner in four different combat sports and holds black belts in MMA, Grappling, Sambo, BJJ, and Judo, and has served as an official at the IMMAF European Championship one time.

The program follows a mission that states that martial arts instills the values of self-confidence, discipline, and friendship. The mission also states that the sports academy helps young students lay the foundations for a solid future, helps students perform better physically and mentally, and teaches them how to control or avoid bullying situations. The mission further states that the benefits of martial arts include reducing daily stress, helping to get back in shape, creating new friendships, and teaching self defense. The program notes that the combination of striking and grappling techniques makes MMA an efficient program for self defense and competition training, and that combining wrestling techniques in Grappling & Jiu Jitsu makes it an efficient program for self defense and competition training without striking. It also states that the combination of Judo, Wrestling, and striking techniques creates Sport Sambo and Combat Sambo, that children instinctually wrestle for fun, that participants can gain self defense skills they can rely on, build character through discipline and mental toughness, and use conditioning for athletic performance and physical health. The program states that combat sports workouts have been proved to increase physical strength and endurance, and that combat sports are individual sports where strong bonds are made through team training.
