About
Children’s Summer Camp is one of the special programs offered by Lexington History Museums. As part of this program, children engage with history through activities connected to lectures, music and theatrical performances, walking tours, socials at historic taverns, and a book club, which are among the more than 50 programs and events offered each year.

Lexington History Museums was founded in 1886. Its mission is to be a premier interpreter of the events of April 19th, 1775, and the faithful steward of all of the town's history through time. It is an independent non-profit organization that focuses on preserving Lexington's history and sharing it through extensive collections from three hundred years of local history, including documents, artwork, furniture, and textiles. These collections are displayed in rotating exhibits at their museums and at many venues throughout the community, and are available to researchers. The organization offers over 50 programs and events every year, including the children’s summer camp, and has added multi-sensory interpretive elements to its museums to be welcoming to visitors of all learning styles and abilities. It is continually collecting materials so that the stories of the town’s growing and diverse population are preserved for centuries to come.
