About
F.U.S.E. School & Program offers play-based, relationship-focused activities that include pretend play, movement activities, and games. In social groups, the teacher uses these activities to help children appreciate, connect, and enjoy their peers.
• Ages: 3–8 years old
• Schedule: Programs offered during February and April vacation weeks, and as a 7-week summer experience
The F.U.S.E. SCHOOL & PROGRAM was created in 2012 by Lauren Weeks, Psy.D., a clinical child psychologist and Founder of the program. It is a private nonprofit school for preschool through 1st grade, with an after school social group program and a therapeutic summer program. Two full time teachers lead each class of 5–7 students, and School Vacation and Summer Programs have a small ratio of 6–7 children with 2 highly trained teachers. Each social group includes 2–3 children with one trained teacher, and each child is paired with a developmentally appropriate peer match in these groups. All social groups are play based and relationship focused, with focus areas that include Nonverbal Problem Solving, Co-regulation, Flexibility in Thinking & Perspective Taking, Pretend Play, Social Pragmatic Communication, Emotions and Feelings, and Sensory Integration.
F.U.S.E. uses a holistic approach to support children in all areas of development, with a mission to best understand each child’s strengths and challenges and develop a comprehensive systematic approach focusing on social, emotional, and cognitive learning. F.U.S.E. supports each child with the necessary foundations through a thoughtful scope and sequence to ensure a child feels confident and successful at every stage of life. F.U.S.E. Preschool, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and has been awarded a $225,000 Cummings Grant.
