Mansfield Little School

Mansfield Little School offers a private preschool program with small class sizes and a low child-to-teacher ratio that supports maximum one-on-one learning. The program uses a developmental, hands-on learning approach with fun, creative, and stimulating activities in a child-centered environment, where teachers and children learn from each other through a constant interchange of ideas. Daily activities and routines are purposefully planned in small informal groups, using a wide range of materials and fun, hands-on activities that build on each child’s strengths and interests.

• Schedule: Preschool classes Monday–Friday with half-day (8:30am–12:00pm) and full-day (8:30am–3:00pm) options during the school year, plus a summer program from June 29 to August 24 with morning sessions (8:30am–12:00pm)

Established in 1978, Mansfield Little School offers education to children ages 3–5 during the school year and to children ages 3–8 during summer camp, with a total capacity of 21 children. The program follows a “whole child” curriculum that includes language and literacy development, social skills, creative expression, and support for emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development. The school’s mission is to provide a secure, caring, and enriched environment that supports the spiritual, mental, and emotional development of each child, while recognizing the uniqueness of each child’s character and personality traits. Mansfield Little School states that it intends to help children develop lifelong relationships, core values as individuals, and strong child-teacher bonds of affection, trust, and respect, while also strengthening families through family events and support for parenting and educational goals. The program also states that it aims to prepare preschoolers to be more than ready for kindergarten and to support children during summer so they do not lose achievement gains from the previous school year, while improving the community by offering a convenient, affordable, premier option for children’s first schooling experience.
