The 2026 Youth Summer Camp registration opens February 5. Young artists ages 4–5 can attend Exploring Art, which meets twice a week from 3:00–4:00 PM. Children ages 6–9 can choose Morning Adventures in Art Camp from 9:00–11:30 AM or Afternoon Clay Camp from 1:00–3:30 PM, both meeting Monday through Friday. Youth ages 10–14 can join morning and afternoon wheel-throwing sessions and weekly workshops that each focus on a different medium or artistic process.

The program is part of the Artists Association of Nantucket, whose mission is to foster the visual arts on Nantucket by promoting, supporting, and encouraging the work of Nantucket artists, providing educational programs in the arts, and preserving the legacy of Nantucket artists. Spring classes and workshops feature local and visiting artists. The current Artist in Resident, Jenny Hope Antes, is a recipient of The Hale Masters of Fine Art Fellowship. The organization’s leadership includes Executive Director Tracey Sears, Artistic Director Robert Frazier, Finance Director Francine Balling, Director of Education Elizabeth Buccino, Education Programming Manager Lizbet Carroll Fuller, Front Desk Administrator Gillian Lewis, and a board with officers and members such as President Laurie Champion and Director Emeritus John Lochtefeld. The art colony that led to the association began in the 1920s, a new gallery space opened by the summer of 1945, and the association was formed that year; after 80 years, the Artists Association of Nantucket remains dedicated to supporting and promoting the visual arts and the artists of Nantucket.
