Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park Youth Education Programs

Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park Education Programs include hands-on environmental education, field trips, classes, summer camps, and hands-on activities. The program also offers skipjack tours and public skipjack cruises aboard the historic skipjack Wilma Lee, as well as boatbuilding and discovery experiences. Additional activities at the museum and park include trails, concerts in the Tides & Tunes series, and special events such as the Oyster Roast & Sock Burning and the Winter Lecture Series.

• Schedule: Museum exhibits and programs are available Tuesday–Sunday, generally between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm
• Price: Concerts are free; however, donations are gratefully accepted.

The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park Education Programs are part of an award-winning museum and skipjack cruise operation that offers four free core programs and is powered by more than 350 volunteers. The mission of the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park is to educate youth and adults about the Annapolis area’s maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through programs, exhibits, and community events. Community involvement includes the Box of Rain program, which connects under-resourced youth ages 8–14 to the Chesapeake Bay through year-round discovery, boatbuilding, and summer maritime experiences, and volunteers who support the museum by leading tours, assisting with events, maintaining grounds, restoring wooden boats, and helping with educational programs. Founded in 2000 from the efforts of the Eastport Historical Society, the organization has hosted over 14,000 passengers aboard the historic skipjack Wilma Lee since 2018.
