The first round of golf in Minnesota was played at Town & Country Club in 1893, and the club moved to its present home at the Marshall Avenue Bridge on the Mississippi River in 1890. The original clubhouse was designed in the early 1890s, and on June 9, 1898, a new nine holes were opened for play, with Town & Country Club serving as a golf venue for over 120 years.
