About

The Sheldon Institute for Barbara Shineman Scholars offers hands-on courses in art, music, culture, science, technology, fitness, and wellness. The program is comprised of two weeks of programming that include these hands-on courses.

• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Two weeks of programming in 2026, with sessions running July 20–24 and July 27–31
• Price: 2026 Rates Coming Soon! Optional additional fee for daily lunch provision.

During each week of the program, children are instructed by college professors, public school teachers, and experienced practitioners. The 2026 session is the 47th Annual Sheldon Institute. The curriculum is tailored to students entering kindergarten through ninth grade. Scholarships are available. The program’s stated mission is that the 47th annual program is specifically designed to address the academic and cultural needs of curious and creative students, and that at Sheldon Institute, education should be informative and enjoyable. The program is led by Chelsea Ginett, Youth Program Manager, Sheldon Institute for Barbara Shineman Scholars Director, and STEAM Camp Director.
