About
SOU Youth Programs offers summer camps, enrichment classes and workshops, regional academic competitions, and early college credit pathways. The program includes friendly competitions in math, trivia, and art, as well as family events, after school meetings, overnight summer camps, and leadership conferences. Specific offerings include the Black Youth Summer Institute overnight week-long summer camp, Academia Latina overnight camp, Academia Leadership overnight camp, the César E. Chávez Leadership Conference, Pathways after-school programming, Juntos en Familia and Dia Familiar Latino family events, Konaway Nika Tillicum overnight summer camp, and All My Relations year-long virtual engagement.

For more than 40 years, Southern Oregon University’s Office of Youth Programs has offered enriching and dynamic educational programs to youth from across the country. The mission of SOU Youth Programs focuses on cultural identities, academics, and community connection through its camps, classes, competitions, and early college credit pathways. Thoughtful and intentional programming is offered for youth who are a part of the Native American, Latino/a/x, and/or Black communities, including programming geared towards youth within the African diaspora, year-long Latino/a/x programming, and year-long virtual engagement through All My Relations that focuses on learning, culture, and community. The program also includes opportunities for participants to stay on a college campus while in middle or high school, take classes, experience Ashland, and immerse in the Southern Oregon University community, along with assistance to students from multicultural backgrounds through cultural and identity-focused events and gatherings.
