About

Adventures in Spanish offers Spanish Story and Play Time and Spanish Storytime where children spend time singing songs, listening to books, making music, and catching bubbles. The program also offers Saturday mini camps and a Summer camp that includes an end of week performance.

• Ages: 3–12 years old

Adventures in Spanish describes its mission as offering fun and engaging Spanish classes for kids in the Portland Metro Area through interactive play-based Spanish lessons and immersive learning. The program states that Spanish comes to life through play and music, and that learning Spanish with them feels like play, using songs, stories, games, and hands-on activities. It notes that caring teachers create a warm, engaging space where every child feels seen and supported.

The program serves families in Portland, Lake Oswego, Cedar Mill, and Beaverton. It has been voted Best After-School Program and Best Foreign Language Camps three years in a row.

One parent shared that Spanish Storytime included singing songs, listening to books, making music, and catching bubbles, and described the leader Jessica as welcoming and engaging, calling it a wonderful, educational way to spend the morning. Another parent described Adventures in Spanish as a gem for Portland, highlighting Saturday mini camps that their child began attending at age 5, a Summer camp filled with exciting learning opportunities, and an end of week performance they described as adorable. A third parent said that having their child participate in the programs has been the missing piece for their family in not having their child attend a bilingual school, and that they have enjoyed watching their child’s Spanish comprehension and vocabulary grow over the years.
