MAC Youth Programs are part of MAC Youth Programs activities that include arts education classes, art gallery programming, and youth programs that nurture the next generation of artists. Participants are connected to events such as live performances with professional musicians, spoken word, and protest art, as well as music events like the Twilight Music Series and a summer-long outdoor block party music festival. The programs are also linked with film activities such as the Media Film Festival, which presents independent short films with a focus on local and regional filmmakers, and an annual international film festival, along with public art installations that transform shared spaces.
MAC Youth Programs are part of the Media Arts Council, which was founded in 2006. The mission of the Media Arts Council is to actively support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of the entire community by providing professional and emerging artists with opportunities to exhibit, sell, and perform, infusing Media with public art installations, providing arts education classes, and offering community arts events. The organization’s leadership includes Executive Director Liz McClearn, Artistic Director Jeff Thomas, Administrative Assistant Raven Amaro, and a Board of Directors that includes Brad Sukala (President), Juliana Flower (Treasurer), and Chris Peifer (Secretary), along with other board members. The Media Film Festival Committee connected to the program includes Festival Director Joanna Goldberg and additional committee members such as Jeff Thomas, Liz McClearn, Brad Sukala, and others in roles including Chair of MACFI and Technical Director of the Media Film Festival.
