Instructors are all 18 and older, described as insatiable outdoors experts with serious safety and skills training and impeccable credentials. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. The program is part of Avid4 Adventure, whose mission states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. Avid4 Adventure is accredited by the American Camp Association, is a Certified B Corp, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service.

Campers are strongly encouraged to use their own bikes, which should be tuned, fit them well, and be appropriate for riding on dirt trails with hand brakes, gears, and wider tires; a rental bike is available for an additional fee selected during registration. To register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if a camper does not meet this minimum skill requirement, the camp may move the camper to a different program if space is available or remove the camper from the group and offer a credit. Campers are grouped by grade range, either 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders, and transportation is provided to and from recreation areas, with access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids.

Avid4 Adventure states that it is the home of multi-sport adventure and that its summer camps are highly acclaimed. It states that programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, that it transports campers to authentic local recreation areas they can keep coming back to explore, and that it teaches campers solid skills, including how to use sound judgment and problem-solving in all aspects of their lives. Avid4 Adventure also states that campers come away filled with confidence, enriched with newfound skills, and launched into a lifetime of empowering outdoor adventure, and that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while giving them the knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks.

The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and states that if Avid4 Adventure does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. One testimonial from September 2023 describes a camper who arrived biking with training wheels and, during camp, learned to ride without training wheels, with the parent stating that Avid taught her so much. Other testimonials from September 2023 describe staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with kids, and note that children were active every day, learned new outdoor skills, and continued talking about camp weeks later.
