Campers practice basic bike commands such as braking, shifting, bunny hops, and track stands, and they learn bicycle maintenance basics including safety checking bikes, solving gear problems, and changing flat tires. The program also includes learning to properly fit a helmet and bike.

Campers are strongly encouraged to use their own bikes that are tuned, fit them well, and are appropriate for riding on dirt trails with hand brakes, gears, and wider tires, and a bike rental option is available during registration. In order to register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if they do not meet this minimum skill requirement, Avid4 Adventure reserves the right to move them to a different program if space is available or remove them from the group and offer a credit.

Instructors are all 18 and older, described as insatiable outdoors experts with impeccable credentials and serious safety and skills training. Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking.

The program groups campers by grade range, with groups for 2nd–4th graders and 5th–7th graders, and provides transportation to and from recreation areas along with access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. Avid4 Adventure organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas, offers programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, and describes its summer camps as highly acclaimed and as a premium camp. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong.

Parent testimonials describe this as a favorite camp where one child learned to ride a bike without training wheels and later enjoyed stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and biking, and another parent notes that their child wanted to show them everything learned each day and describes the staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with kids. Another parent reports that their kids had a great time, still talk about the camp over a month later, and were active every day learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer.
