Summer Musical Theatre Camp (SMTC) is a program where students sing, dance, and act in fully staged musicals. The camp is part of Ovation West Performing Arts, which includes musical theatre and operatic productions, a chamber choir, a variety of education programs, a concert series of nationally renowned musicians from multiple genres, and a film series.

Ovation West Performing Arts began as the Evergreen Chorale in 1972. Its mission is to transform and inspire community through excellence in music, theatre, education, and through historic Center Stage. Ovation West Performing Arts programs engage around 500 performing artists and reach around 7,000 community members every year. Ovation West Performing Arts collaborates with numerous other arts organizations from all over the region. Dr. Graham Anduri serves as Executive Director and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy; he taught voice, choir, and opera at the university level for ten years, ran international training programs for emerging professional musical theatre and opera singers, and was a career coach for professional singers around the world. The leadership team also includes Christine Gaudreau, Director of Choral and Orchestral Activities; Tonje Williams, Operations Manager; Alex Woosely, Production Manager and Stage Manager; and Sarah Gumina, Marketing Manager. The Board of Directors for 2025/2026 includes Claire Terry (President), Kevin Atkinson (Treasurer), Pat Magerkurth (Past President), Bob Baldwin, Dodge McCord, Ruth Hund, Michelle O'Laughlin, Tom Scripps, and Julie Bell.
