Overnight Summer Camps in California

Summer Bridge serves a globally diverse community of entering undergraduates in a six-week academic program. Scholars take a full course load, including two academic courses and a mentorship program, to gain early and deep exposure to the rigor and expectations of the #1 public research university.

Gold Arrow Camp is a traditional summer camp located on Huntington Lake. Boys and girls ages 6-14 make fun, lifelong memories at our California summer camp while participating in activities like wake boarding, horseback riding, and rock climbing.

A great place for kids! Camp Augusta provides a supportive environment that embraces the essence of being a child. A wide selection of diverse activities provide each camper the fun, memories and growth we all remember and associate with summer camp.

Activities at camp vary both in substance and content, ensuring variety to maximize each camper’s experience. Appropriate time is provided for self-care, rest and personal reflection. At different points throughout the day, campers will interact with their cabin, unit and the entire camp community.

PALS mission is to create inclusive camp experiences for people with and without Down syndrome. Our volunteer-led programs change attitudes, transform lives, and inspire a world of belonging.

During the week's session, campers have daily activities which include western riding lessons, equestrian vaulting (gymnastics on horseback), animal & horse science classes, animal care time plus the opportunity to select from the day’s list of elective options such as, pool & water slide, rock climbing wall, archery, arts & crafts, outdoor cooking, sports/games, harnessing pony carts and SO much more.

As a traditional co-ed residential summer camp, Camp Rockin’ U offers weeklong sessions packed with more awesome action & excellent entertainment than you can imagine! Break your child’s summer boredom with a week packed full of stimulating activities designed to excite every camper. We strive to provide every child with a special camping experience they'll remember forever!

Camp St. Andrews is held at 6,000 feet in elevation – the perfect location for a High Sierra summer camp adventure. We pride ourselves on bringing out the beauty in all who attend, creating memories, stories, lifelong friends, wilderness awareness, and the urge to relive it for years to come.

Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch is a residential summer camp for kids ages 8-16 in Northern California. For more than 90 years, the Bar 717 Ranch has welcomed children to 450 acres in the beautiful mountains of Trinity County to experience nature, form deep friendships, and have big fun.

The Berkeley Pre-College Scholars: Summer Residential track offers international and domestic high school students the opportunity to live on campus and enjoy the summer at Berkeley. Pre-College Scholars participants will get the opportunity to earn college credit while experiencing university life to the fullest with other students from across the United States and around the world.

The Painted Turtle offers an exhilarating array of camp activities and intentional programs that foster personal growth, self-confidence, and exploration. Our programs empower campers to make new friends, gain independence in their medical care, and become their greater selves.

Thunderbird Ranch provides an unforgettable summer experience for children with an abundance of activities designed to mirror our philosophy and goals while at the same time foster self-esteem and confidence in a safe, warm and caring family environment that concerned parents have come to rely on for 2 generations.

77-year old resident CA Girl Scout camp, located in the high Sierra, specializing in backpacking. We offer a graduated backpacking program for girls entering 4th grade through college, with 1-day, 3-day, 4-day, 7-day, and 11-day trips. We also offer in-camp units, a water-focused unit, and a counselor training program. Run entirely by VOLUNTEERS with an average of 8 years of Two Sentinels experience, though many of our staff have spent more than 20 years working for Two Sentinels. Our staff to camper ratio is 1:4, and we offer a Tag unit for young children of volunteer staff. Girls in both backpacking and non-backpacking units also get to swim, kayak, canoe, and sail in Lake Kirkwood, and participate in archery, nature and astronomy study, crafts, singing, games, day hikes and fun!

USC’s four-week college immersion program provides high school students like you with university experience in a subject area of their choice. Courses are interactive, engaging and challenging, allowing you to explore new areas of study or build on your high school coursework.

One of the most valuable ways if instilling self-esteem into a child's life is through outdoor programs that help children grow and acquire important social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills that otherwise would not be possible in a classroom setting. In July and August each year, children ages seven through 13 enjoy a traditional residential "sleepover" camp at Circle V.
